The Reggae mansion is not the cheapest in Kuala Lumpur but is one of the cleanest and offers all you can eat breakfast as well as a happening roof top bar with great views of KL . They also offer pod style beds in the dorm so there is more privacy then bunk bed rooms.

Batu caves are a must see and are easy and cheap to get to. Buy a bag of peanuts when you leave the train station to feed the monkeys and guard your things as the monkeys are aggressive and will steal from you . To get there first get to the KL central station then you take the KTM train to Batu Caves (last stop); 3 ringgit there and 6 ringgit back, not sure why more expensive coming back ? Exit train station and turn right you cant miss them .

Kuala Selangor easy day trip or overnight trip .http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g1777471-Activities-Kuala_Selangor_Selangor.html. My favorite was the Silver leaf monkeys on top of Bukit Melawati Hill these monkeys are much more docile then the mccaw monkeys and only found in a couple of places in the world . The top thing people come here for is Kampung Kuantan Firefly Park and if you want see the fireflies you will have to stay overnight or take a tour from KL or taxi back as the buses will have stopped running after 7 pm. cheap ways of getting there one is go to the UTC bus station and book a private bus there and then take a public bus back or just take public bus there and back the bus you will need is # 141 I do not remember the cost but I did private and public bus for less then $ 10.
